Gravity Circuit from developer Domesticated Ant Games and Publisher PID Games is a love letter to the Mega Man games of yore. It was available to play at the PID Games booth and was the first I played at PAX East.

You play as Kai, a lone warrior battling an evil robotic army in a post-apocalyptic world. Not much else in known plot wise, although when you encounter the stage boss, some back and forth dialogue happens before doing battle which does provide some hints on the game’s backstory.

30XX Preview

30XX title

30XX, the sequel to the indie hit 20XX, is a Mega Man influenced rogue like that adds a unique twist on the formula. On the PAX East show floor on Thursday, we got some hands on time with the game. This go around are a bunch of new features, a fresh new art style and local and online co-op multiplayer for up to two people. You can choose between either Nina, who is the ranged choice or Ace who’s the more melee oriented character.

Fort Solis Preview

From studio Fallen Leaf comes a third person, narrative thriller set on Mars called Fort Solis. We got to experience a preview build of the game on the PAX East show floor and it did not disappoint.

The game is an exploration of space station and it’s surroundings to figure out what caused an alarm call from a mining base on the planet’s surface. You play as Jack Leary, a repair engineer, who takes it upon himself to answer the call and investigate what’s going on. It stars such talent as Troy Baker, Roger Clark and Julia Brown, they pull double duty with motion capture and voice acting.

Wrestlequest Preview

Megacat Studios is certainly know for some innovative games such as Coffee Crisis and Bite the Bullet. Their newest game may just be one of the most unique gaming titles in a long while. Wrestlequest is a traditional RPG with a wrestling motif, combining all the basics and crucial details of professional wrestling and the critical components of JRPGs.

Tribute Games, the creator of such games as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World – The Game and Panzer Paladin, are back again with Shredder’s Revenge. This is an homage to the TMNT arcade beat ’em ups of the late 80s and early 90s. Me and my friend Anthony got some hands on time with the game and were able to ask the devs some questions regarding game and DLC plans.
