In the news, Oscar Isaac is penned to play Solid Snake, Kratos is coming to Fortnite and the Penny Arcade Expo releases tentative convention dates. This is our final episode of the 8th generation of consoles. We get into the IGN console reviews, Sony’s refusal to do in store purchases and customer who ordered a Series X and got a One X instead. Also, they have a great interview with Retro Wolf 88 and they get into retro collecting in Appalachia and some stories on the set of the Game Chasers Movie.
Not to be outdone, Sony steps up and announces launch date and prices for the PS5 and surprise, they are very reasonable. They open the conference with a Final Fantasy XVI trailer and Dave goes a little nuts. They end it with a teaser for a new God of War and Dave and Dan go a little nuts. Sony confirm no PS3, PS2 and PS1 disc support on the PS5 and Nintendo stops production of the 3DS after 9 years. All that and more on episode 236 of Rated G.
Microsoft, in an effort to get ahead of the leak, drop the price of the Series X and announce the Series S and price. Sony then races to announce a presentation soon after. Hopefully we’ll get the price. Also in the news, Ninja returns to Twitch in the biggest set of moves from Twitch to Mixer and back to Twitch and we get some next gen game release dates. All that and Dave tells his harrowing weekend river adventure.
Ubisoft has their first of two E3 content presentations, Ubisoft Forward. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Farcry 6, Watch Dogs Legion and more were on display. Dan and Dave discuss their thoughts. Microsoft’s been making all the first moves. Console reveal, system teardown, now the first next gen gaming showcase for the Series X. Dan and Dave weigh with their thoughts on the whole quarantine style presentation. We’re getting dangerously close to what would be E3 time and the rumors keep swirling. Sony is rumored to reveal more on the PS5 come may, Metroid Prime Trilogy remake gets leaked and Google Stadia plans to have a presentation as this episode drops. All that and Reggie swoops in to fix Gamestop and get them back on track.
