In sad news this week, a PS5 in person sale goes awry as a would-be criminal pulls a gun and tried to steal a console from a seller. Thankfully, no one was fatally injured. Also in the news, It Takes Two hit by trademark claim by Take-Two Interactive, PlayStation reportedly planning Xbox Gamepass competitor and Sony gets into the restaurant biz with their PlayStation to Plate food offerings. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer progression comes under fire by fans for egregious practices, the Golden Joystick 2021 winners announced, Cyberpunk 2077 players are flooding the game’s steam page with positive reviews and the new Bioshock may feature two cities, one above, one below. At the top of the show, Dan and Dave celebrate their memories of the original Xbox and the Gamecube for it’s 20 year anniversaries. On this month’s episode of Saturday Morning Retro, Dan and Dave talk about Little Nightmares for the Xbox One and Friday the 13th for the Commodore 64 and in our Triple R segment, the Splatterhouse series and Halloween for the Atari 2600.
Not to be outdone by Nickelodeon, Warner Bros. is rumored to be making a Smash style fighting game as a roster leaks online. Dan and Dave discuss if this is even a good idea. Also in the news, Nintendo falters out the gate launching its Expansion Pak addition to it’s online membership, we get some Halo Infinite single player footage from 343 Studios and in bittersweet news, the PAX South convention is closing due to waning attendance. Best Buy rolls out a controversial membership option to its Total Tech program and the internet is divided.
