Despite two new consoles on the horizon, the biggest news this week is Sakurai’s announcement of Minecraft Steve for Smash Bros. Billy Mitchell drops in on AEW Wrestling, Spider-Man Remastered gets a new Peter Parker, Google’s new Chromecast with Google TV won’t officially support Stadia at launch and the Tokyo Game Show gives Animal Crossing: New Horizons game of the year. Microsoft, in an effort to get ahead of the leak, drop the price of the Series X and announce the Series S and price. Sony then races to announce a presentation soon after. Hopefully we’ll get the price. Also in the news, Ninja returns to Twitch in the biggest set of moves from Twitch to Mixer and back to Twitch and we get some next gen game release dates. We finally get the Mario celebration we were all waiting for. The Mario 35th Anniversary Nintendo Direct came out last week and it was a big one. Dan and Dave go over all the exclusive and limited content. Also in the news, AT&T is no longer looking to sell their WB Gaming division and Hello Games is working on a huge, ambitious’ new game. All that and pilots reported a mysterious jetpack man in commercial airspace on episode 234 of Rated G for Gamers.
At the top of the show, a somber moment as we remember Chadwick Boseman. In the news, Gamescom kicks off their online show, Geoff Kieghley confirms the Game Awards for this December and Nintendo is now Japan’s richest company.
